The story of Sun Foundation began with a dream deeply rooted in our culture and heritage to share the mystic hymns of our land with the world. Reviving Bangla folk music among the younger generation and supporting our local folk talents have always been at the heart of our journey.
It all began in 2013 with ‘Bauliana’, a nationwide TV reality show in search of gifted folk singers. The finest performers from Bauliana earned the chance to share the stage at South Asia’s largest folk music festival, the Dhaka International FolkFest, alongside legendary artists from home and abroad.
Our voyage continues to take the soul of Bangla folk music beyond borders, and at the same time, to bring the vast world of folk music closer to the people of Bangladesh.
